It provides you with direct access to your accounts at TD Ameritrade. It allows you to see your account balances, statements, tax documents, trade confirmation, transaction history, and more. It also allows you to manage and update your personal information along with many additional features.

How do I change my password?
  1. Login to your AdvisorClient account.
  2. Click “My Profile” at the top of the page.     
  3. Click “Change your password” under “Security and Preferences”
  4. First, enter your current password in the first box. Next, enter your new password in the second box. Finally, confirm the new password in the last box and click “Save.”
How do I download the AdvisorClient app to my smartphone?
  1. Go to either Apple® App Store or Google Play™ on your mobile device.
  2. Search for AdvisorClient and click “Download.”
  3. Login to your AdvisorClient account to enjoy many features, such as account balances, transaction history, and remote check deposits.
How do I reset my password in the AdvisorClient app?
  1. Choose the option “Forgot Password?”
  2. Enter in your User ID then choose “Confirm.”
  3. You will have the option to reset your password through a phone call or a text message. Choose which option you would like then click either “Call me now” or “Text me now.”
    • If you choose the phone call, you will immediately receive a call from TDAmeritrade. It will ask you to hit the “#” key if you were expecting the phone call. Then it will ask for the security code that is on your screen in your AdvisorClient app. Once you have entered the code, your identity has been verified. AdvisorClient app will automatically redirect you to the Change your password screen.
    • If you choose the text message, you will immediately receive a text message from TDAmeritrade. Enter in the texted security code in your AdvisorClient app. Once you have entered the code, your identity has been verified. AdvisorClient app will automatically redirect you to the Change your password screen.
  4. Enter in your new password then confirm the new password and choose “Save Password.”
  5. It will redirect you to the login screen to log in using your new password.
How do I reset my password on the AdvisorClient.com website?

Where do I find my statements?
  1. Login to your AdvisorClient account.
  2. Click “Documents” at the top of the page.
  3. You can search for statements by your specific account and/or time range by choosing from the drop down boxes.

Where do I find my tax documents?
  1. Login to your AdvisorClient account.
  2. Click “Documents” at the top of the page.
  3. Click “Tax Documents” on the left side of the page.
  4. You can search for tax documents by your specific account and/or time range by choosing from the drop down boxes.

How do I update my email address?
  1. Login to your AdvisorClient account.
  2. Click “My Profile” at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the account under “Account and Contact Information.”
  4. Click on the blue “EDIT” button in the Email box.
  5. You will have to enter your password to verify your identity.
  6. Type the email you want associated with your account then click save.
  7. Repeat these steps for each of your accounts.

 

How do I register my bank account?
  1. Click “Deposits & Transfers” at the top of the page.
  2. Click “Add new connection” in the green box
  3. Login to your AdvisorClient account.
  4. You will need to enter your password to verify your identity.
  5. You will need to confirm that you are the owner or joint-owner of the bank account that you are adding. AdvisorClient will automatically redirect you to the Electronic (ACH) set up page.
  6. Choose “ACH” in the “Connection Type” dropdown box.
  7. Enter in the bank account information then click Next.
  8. Then choose the account/accounts you wish to link the bank account to.
  9. Review the details of the new bank connection, Read the ACH Agreement, then agree to the terms by checking the box. Finally, click “Confirm.”
  10. Your account information has been saved, however; the setup is not yet complete. In order to verify that electronic funding transactions are available with your account, TDAmeritrade will make 2 small deposits into your bank account.
  11. In 2-3 business days, check your bank account and note the amounts of the 2 small deposits made by TDAmeritrade. You will then go back to www.advisorclient.com/login and login to your account. **This step must be done within 72 hours of the deposits being made by TD Ameritrade
  12. Click “Deposits & Transfer” at the top of the page.
  13. Find the bank information that needs to be confirmed and select “Verify.” Enter in the amounts of the 2 small deposits in the fields provided and click Submit.
How do I make a contribution?
  1. Login to your AdvisorClient account.
  2. Click “Deposits & Transfers” at the top of the page.
  3. Click “Deposits” on the left side of the page. Then “New Deposit” in the green box
  4. You will need to enter your password to verify your identity.
  5. Fill out the “Create Deposit” page. Choose “ACH” for the Deposit Type. Then choose the correct bank account you wish for the deposit to withdraw from. Choose which TD Ameritrade account you are making the contribution to. Next, enter in the dollar amount of the contribution. Choose the frequency desired from the drop down box. Finally, choose the date you would like the contribution to be made into your account and click “Continue” in the green box.
  6. Review the Deposit details and click “Submit” in the green box.
How do I change statement preferences to paper or electronic delivery?
  1. Login to your AdvisorClient account.
  2. Click “My Profile” at the top of the page.
  3. Click “Communication preferences” under “Security and Preferences”
  4. Click “Update preferences individually.”
  5. Choose either “Electronic” or “Paper” in the drop down boxes in each column for your Tax Documents, Trade Confirmations, and Monthly Statements.
  6. Click “Update preferences” when finished.

How do I update my mailing address?
  1. Login to your AdvisorClient account.
  2. Click “My Profile” at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the account under “Account and Contact Information.”
  4. Click on the blue “EDIT” button in the Mailing Address box.
  5. You will have to enter your password to verify your identity.
  6. Type your updated address then click save.
  7. Repeat these steps for each of your accounts.

How do I create nicknames for my accounts?
  1. Login to your AdvisorClient account.
  2. Click “My Profile” at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the account under “Account and Contact Information.”
  4. Click on the blue “EDIT” button in the Account Name box.
  5. Type the nickname in the box then click save.
  6. Repeat these steps for each of your accounts.
How do I set-up Bill Pay in my TD Ameritrade account?
Use the online bill pay feature of your checking account to send a contribution to TD Ameritrade. Include your account number in the “account number” field.

How do I make remote check deposits?
  1. Open the AdvisorClient app on your smartphone.
  2. Click the menu button on the top left of your screen.
  3. Choose “Check Deposit.”
  4. Choose “New Deposit.”
  5. Choose the account that you would like to make the deposit to using the first drop down box.
  6. Choose the type of contribution using the second drop down box. (TIP: Current Year Contribution, Prior Year Contribution, or 60-Day Rollover)
  7. Enter the amount of the check in the line labelled “Amount.”
  8. Tap the box with the picture of the camera that says “Front of Check.” Using your phone’s camera, take a picture of the front of the check.
  9. Tap the box with the picture of the camera that says “Back of Check.” Using your phone’s camera, take a picture of the front of the check.
  10. Choose “Submit” at the bottom of your screen.
